When we do the SEO of any website or an individual post, it means we use many techniques and tactics to rank the website higher in search engine pages results.
In this article we’ll learn about all those methods and strategies which are useful to increase site visibility in search engine.
But before starting article, it is necessary to clear some confusion which may be come in your mind later. There are three words SEO, SERP and Search Engine.
Search Engine
Search engine is a program or system on World Wide Web which searches documents and keywords to place them in its database.
SERP (Search Engine Result Pages)
When a user enters some words in search engine like Google and presses enter, search engine return with results. These results are arranged in page wise. You can verify this fact by attempting a search in search engine and see at the end of page, there are pages arranged i.e. Pages: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Next.
The results which appear in search engine are taken from search engine database.
SEO
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is the method of techniques, tactics and strategies applied to increase the organic traffic (number of visitors via search engine) of website by gaining high rank in SERP (search engine result pages) of search engines i.e. Google, Yahoo and Bing etc.
There are dozens of SEO techniques which are useful to improve the ranking of web pages in search engine. There are many such strategies which are helpful to send the more number of visitors to website from search engine.
Search Description in Blogger
Search description in blogger is the streamline source to increase the visibility in search engine and rank higher in SERP.
I don’t understand that why a lot of bloggers ignore this step while guiding about SEO of website to others.
In search description, you can give multiple but relevant topics to your individual blog posts. Here a snap shot is given for convenience.
Sign-in blogger.com, paste your article there. Now you can write here relevant multiple topic for your article. For example the title of your article is “how to make money online on Udemy?” This is the original title of your post. Click on “search description”, and write there the following titles also.
- Udemy: Make money online.
- How to make money from Udemy?
- How to earn online income on Udemy?
- How to earn income by selling online courses on Udemy?
- Complete guide make money online on Udemy?
- How to make money by launching online course on Udemy?
You can add all these topics in “search description” and click on “save” to save it. Publish your post.
When Google will index your post, it will take these entire multiple titles into consideration. Your original post title is “make money online on Udemy” but whenever a user will search using these keywords “how to earn online income on Udemy or how to make money by selling online courses on Udemy”, even then search engine will show your web page in results. That’s why I always use this tool to increase the ranking and visibility of website in search engine.
Modify Permalink Structure
Recently we published a detailed article on importance of Permalink structure in SEO. Permalink structure is the web address or URL of a specific web page.
There are two types of URL every website has, one is its main URL like www.techsolutionsdesk.com and other URL is of its specific web page which directly open an article.
Permalink is an effective SEO technique to increase the organic traffic and ranking of website in SERP if it is search engine friendly.
When a user enters a query in search engine, search engine shows the results with specific web pages and article, which contain the keywords of user’s query. If bloggers don’t modify the permalink of a web page, search engine will never prefer it to show in returning results. That’s why permalink structure is an important SEO initiative to improve ranking of your website in search engine.
There is very simple process to modify the Permalink structure. You can do this by following the below mentioned step by step guide.
- Sign-in blogger.com
- Open dash board, open the old post or paste the new article.
- In right side menu, the “permalink” option is given. Click on it.
- When you click two more downward options will appear “automatic permalink” and “custom Permalink”.
- Click on automatic permalink and save it.
- If you want to create your own permalink structure, then click on “custom permalink” and add there.
Remember if you are creating custom permalink, then it must be user and search engine friendly. Avoid to making it lengthy. Keep it short and easy to remember. Use numeric keywords. Also use dashes to differentiate between the words.
Fill Post Title with Keywords
Keywords and SEO are sisters of each other. The whole system of SEO is spanning around the keywords, even if I say that “search engine is the 2nd name of configuration of keywords” it would not be wrong. When user enters the query in search engine, search engine comes with returning results which contain the keywords of user’s query.
Post title is the main heading of any web page. Whenever a visitor lands on website, the first impression which he observes is the post title. Search engine also index the post with the post title. That’s why post title is a very important initiative of search engine optimization.
When you choose a title, it should be attractive and easy to remember. Before deciding the title, use different keywords research tools to find out the keywords for your post title.
Remember when search engine shows the returning results, it shows the post title. To verify this aspect, here I give an example.
This was the screen shot of main web page of Techsolutionsdesk.com where post was published with this title “how to make money online with Blue Host Affiliate Program”.
Now see what the search engine is showing in its returning results.
This is how the keywords of post title are very important and basic factor playing an important role in SEO of website. Imagine search engine when index and ranks the web page in search engine, it also consider the keywords of post title. You can also use “Search Description (mentioned above)” to carry out the more SEO benefit from your post title.
